FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
