An Australian man that leaped across a fence and reached for actress Ariana Grande has been sent away and prohibited from Singapore.

The individual, aged 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to news outlets.

The man shoved through camera crews and charged at the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian debut for the film on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

He has a background of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in the past June.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with several individuals claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has discussed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in the English city in May 2017 killed 22 people and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to regional reports.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Event security intercepted him and held him in place.

The man subsequently shared recordings expressing gratitude to the star for letting him on the carpet and said he was "at liberty."

Police arrested him the subsequent day and accused him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The District Judge the judicial official was quoted by a news outlet as saying that the man sought attention, adding that he was incorrect to think he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not spoken about the situation.

Erivo discussed the situation to a media outlet, saying that she "just wanted to ensure my friend was protected."

"I think he didn't mean us injury, but you never know with such situations, and I aimed to ensure that she was OK. That was my first instinct," she stated.
