President Trump Welcomes Loved Ones of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their memory.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told journalists. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Community Response

Attendees came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the individual that instructors wished for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, informed the press. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to assist people.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Government Changes

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event prompted the administration to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop granting visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of the Airman

Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader the governor said on television.

Attorney general Bondi stated on the program that she aimed to meet with the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had fortitude,” he told the gathering at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
