Salah Issues Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team after the fallout from his public comments.
The Fallout
He was omitted from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has chosen not to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and starting to win games.”
