The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.

In numerous discussions, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Xbox fan sites began covering on PS5 topics as a new development. The past year represented complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company still intends to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its key platform.

The Current Inclusions

The duo of games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.

Major Titles on the Horizon

On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."

Noteworthy Smaller Games

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Robust Selection of Games

All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that lacked the recognition they were due initially — transforming them into excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
