The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
